Meet the Artist: Anton
Welcome! I’m Anton, an artist and student from Wellington. I first discovered my love for art at an early age, with my first commission at just 16. Since then, I’ve explored a variety of mediums, from gel nail polish to digital design, working on everything from website assets to personal gifts.
I used to work predominantly in digital, but with the rise of AI, I’ve grown bored of it and have started moving back to traditional and fine arts. Honestly, this has been the best thing to happen in my short art career. Rediscovering the joy of watercolour, acrylic, and charcoal has made creating feel exciting again.
Recently, I’ve taken up pet portraits to earn money while studying. Although I love doing portraits of humans, I’ve found people aren’t too keen on hanging their likeness on a wall (I think we should normalise it).
